How to turn off Samsung phone using hardware buttons?

I just got a new Samsung phone but I'm having trouble figuring out how to turn it off without using the touchscreen. The instructions online are all about swiping down from the top or pressing a button on the lock screen, but mine doesn't have any of those features. I've tried pressing and holding the power button, but nothing happens. Can anyone help me out? I'm worried I'll be stuck in airplane mode forever if I don't figure it out soon.

If your Samsung phone doesn't have a touchscreen or other features that allow you to turn it off via software, the next step is to perform a hard reset using the physical buttons on the device. This will remove all data and settings, so be prepared to restore from a backup or factory reset. To do this, press and hold both the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Samsung logo and then hear the boot sequence start up. Release the buttons when you see the screen turn off. Please note that a hard reset will erase all data on your device, including contacts, photos, and apps. Make sure to back up any important files or data before attempting this procedure. Alternatively, if you have a Samsung phone with a removable battery, you can also use it as a last resort. Remove the battery and disconnect it from the phone for at least 30 seconds to fully power down the device. Reconnect the battery after 30 seconds to turn the phone back on.

To turn off your Samsung phone using hardware buttons, locate the Power button at the top right side of the device. It's usually a small button between the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons. Press and hold the Power button until the phone shuts down or turns off. Alternatively, you can find the Power button on the left side of some Samsung phones. Check your phone's packaging or manual if you're not sure where it is. Note that this method doesn't require swiping down from the top of the screen or pressing a button on the lock screen. Simply use the physical Power button to turn off your device.
