Why is my dryer not heating and how can I troubleshoot it?

Zymyrnx
I've had my dryer for about 5 years now, but recently it's started not heating at all. I've checked the circuit breaker and made sure it's getting power, but the control panel lights don't seem to be working either. I've also checked the thermal cutoff switch, but I'm not sure if that's even related to this issue. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

A tripped circuit can prevent your dryer from heating, causing a range of symptoms including reduced or no heat output. To identify if a tripped circuit is the issue, check your home's main electrical panel to see if any of the breakers have tripped. If you find that a breaker has indeed tripped, reset it and then try running your dryer again. However, if multiple breakers are tripping or if none are working, it may indicate a more serious electrical issue that requires professional attention. To diagnose the problem, check your dryer's thermal cutoff switch for signs of overheating, and ensure that the venting system is clear of debris and blockages. If you're still unsure about how to proceed, consider consulting a licensed electrician for assistance.
