How do you delete recent searches on Google Maps using an iPhone?

Jensen82
I recently upgraded my iPhone to the latest iOS version, but now I'm noticing that it's constantly suggesting places based on my previous searches in Google Maps. This is really annoying and takes up a lot of screen space. I know how to save my favorite spots and set destinations as home, but I have no idea how to get rid of these pesky recent searches. Anyone else having this problem? I've checked the settings and couldn't find any option to delete these. Can someone please help me out?

To delete recent searches on Google Maps on iPhone, go to the app's main screen, tap the three horizontal lines in the top left corner, and select 'Your Timeline'. Scroll down to 'Recent Search History', tap and hold each location until a red '-' appears, then release. Repeat for all unwanted locations. To clear the entire list, press and hold on any location until it starts shaking, then tap the trash can icon that appears.
